Suggest Treatment For High Fever In A Child

Hi dictor my son s now 1 yr 2 months .3 days back he was suffering from high fever which is at 100.2 f.i consulted doctor she gave me the colpol syrup n meftal p .now my son get cured.shall i stop continuing the meftal p syrup r shall i continue it?

Hi,

Most fevers in this season are viral &they. need to be treated by giving paracetamol suspension 6 hey or 8 gelya. Depending on the severity of fever & general condition of the patient, Viral fevers get controlled with home management by 3 to 7 days at the most.

In case of no fever control by 5days of medicines ,OR the symptoms get more severe, you need investigations/suitable antibiotics with advice by your family physician.

In self care, you should take rest, drink sufficient boiled water ,take paracetamol pill 6-8 hourly & get your family doctors advise for an antibiotic.
