Hi. My baby has been suffering from fever of abt 100°-103°... The dr has prescribed mefast p suspension 6.5ml as and when fever. He is 2yrs 2months short of 1 week and is 11.1kg.. Iv given him 6.5ml at 3 in the afternoon after which his fever his fever reduced to 98.1 °. And now again its shot to 100°. Iv given mefast agn. Is it ok or will it be regarded as an overdose? Incase he should get a fever agn in the next 6-7hrs..would it be ok to give him mefast? Or augmen ds 3. 5ml as prescribed by dr.?
You should give him medicine after every 6 hourly until his fever subsides. and in case of high-grade fever like more than 100 then start giving clod sponges to him and plenty of fluids.
