Suggest Treatment For High Fever, Low Back Pain And Blood Poisoning
My mother has been inpatient for the past week. 4 weeks ago, she was taken to the ER with severe shoulder pain; this subsided and then went to her knee. The knee pain subsided and then a softball size lump showed up in her clavicle; last week Thursday, severe low back pain took her to the ER again. Blood test showed blood poisoning, which is attacking her artificial joints. This past Sunday, her right total knee replacement from 15 years ago was removed. She runs a fever from 99-104 consistently. The doctors are stumped. Have you seen anything like this before?
The symptoms of your mother seem to be related to an infection. The lump in the clavicle can be related to a swollen lymph node.
I suggest continuing the treatment with antibiotics. I also suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the inflammation. You should follow up with your doctor for further treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
