Suggest Treatment For High Fever

I have a 3 yr old son. Fever for 5 days. First 3 days severe (102-104.5). Last 2 days not much of a fever except around 11 am and last night at 10 pm it was 102.5 rectally. Been to dr two times. They say viral. Day 5 and still going. Is it really viral?

Hello and Welcome to Healthcare Magic forum!

Viral fevers are quite common at this age group. And they come in high temperatures, and last for 1 week, especially when you are staying in a tropical area, Check to see if your child develops any rash, and if there is any periodicity in the fever, painful urination, pain in the ear. if the fever is touching normalcy and none of the above symptoms are there, then it is viral.

So there is nothing to worry about

Wishing your son speedy recovery
