Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My children just approached me with a question about their heart rate. They are too old to be playing a trick on me. Their resting heart rates are too high. My wife is on beta blockers for a thyroid disease so I am constantly checking her heart. My son is 112 and my daughter is 132. Not a panic attack. Blood pressure is not the issue either. What could possibly be the issue without it being a heart condition?
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. High resting heart rate may be due to hyperthyroidism. In children, it may be physiological or idiopathic as well. I suggest you should get thyroid profile done of both your children. Hope this will be helpful. Take care.
