Suggest Treatment For High Troponin Levels For A Married Man

Hello my husband is in hospital with high tropinine levels. He had five stents fitted 6 weeks ago but is now breathless again with chest pain. The hospital is monitoring his levels which is I think 44? Very high anyway. The hospital is just monitoring, is there anything we can do to reduce the levels?

Hello,

High troponin indicates angina or myocardial infarction. Nothing much to worry and your treatment is in the right track.

Your cardiologist can explain the details. He might be already on blood things and close monitoring is required now.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
