Hello,
You are only 46, you need to take care of your health. Renal impairment at such a young age is not good. There are no medicines that decrease the
creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels. Good healthy habits and diet control will prevent further damage to the kidneys. Avoid taking canned foods, do not take food that comes in jars and boxes.
Do not take processed food as they contain a lot of chemicals, preservatives, etc. Avoid taking
high protein food like peas, beans, lentils, nuts, meat, poultry, large fish, shellfish, dairy including milk, cheese, cream and soy foods. Take adequate quantity of water and stay hydrated. Eat fiber rich food. Taking red bell pepper, cucumber, cinnamon, turmeric, lemon, cabbage, carrot. Take more alkaline food and small portion of small fish and lean meat.
Avoid smoking, cut on alcohol intake. Restrict salt intake, avoid salty snacks. Keep a control on your blood pressure and blood
glucose level. Do regular walking. If
overweight, maintain healthy weight.
High cholesterol level may lead to
hypertension, stroke, PAD, CAD, etc. Take boiled food over oily, spicy, processed food. Avoid
trans fat, take food cooked in olive oil.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
