Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain behind the knee and pain from the hip to the knee. I ve had an ultrasound that showed no blood clot, and an xray that shows a lot of arthritis in the knee. The pain has gotten to the point that I m having trouble sleeping at night because I cannot find a comfortable position. It is hard to stand for any length of time and I hurt when I go from a sitting to standing position. Over the counter meds are not really helping. Do I need to see an orthopedist?
Yes, I suggest you to go and see and orthopedic surgeon since pain medications are not helping you. Also, opt for stretching exercises by a physiotherapist; which may reduce the pain and help you to cope with it, take tab Shelcal 0-0-1, for 21 days.
Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Jinela Desouza, General & Family Physician
