Suggest Treatment For Hip Bursitis Caused After A Hip Replacement

My 83 year old dad has hip bursitis after a full hip replacement. He is having a lot of pain, he did have a injection which really did not help. And he just had vein stripping surgery in his right leg which is same side as hip replacement. Any suggestions on what could help.

Hi
I had gone through your question and understand your concern . See , Bursitis of the hip is the most common cause of hip pain.
Bursitis, or inflammation of a bursa, is usually not infectious, but the bursa can become infected.
Treatment of noninfectious bursitis includes rest, ice, and medications for inflammation and pain. Infectious bursitis (uncommon) is treated with antibiotics, aspiration, and surgery.
Cortisone injections can be used to treat the inflammation of small areas of the body (local injections), or they can be used to treat inflammation that is widespread throughout the body (systemic injections). Examples of conditions for which local cortisone injections are used include inflammation of a bursa (bursitis of the hip)
Hope this information was of help.
