Suggest Treatment For Hives On Shoulders, Upper Back And Swollen Chin?

Hi there. I recently discovered I m allergic to cats even though I had one for several years, a new kitten seemed to set it off. I have recently begun getting hives, mainly on my shoulders and upper back, sometimes my lip or chin will swell...can cat allergies cause hives like this?

Thanks for using HCM, I understand your concern and will try to give you my medical advice, yes any allergic process can produce hives, but the intensity depends how is your immune system responding in your case you are living with your cats and you are exposed to the allergen ( cats hair) all the time , at this moment I recommend you
take some antihistamines and avoid the contact with cats. I hope that my advice has been helpful and take care
I find this answer helpful
