Suggest Treatment For Hives On The Body

After having HIVES for a few days I was prescribed oral steroids as well as a shot. It s been two days and while it does appear less in some areas, some areas have not, and it seems to continue to pop up in new areas, like my lips and throat. How long before symptoms on a whole begin to decline?

Hi,

Hives are indicative of an allergic reaction. Corticosteroids help reduce the inflammation and allergic reaction. It can take few days for symptoms to completely subside. So continue the steroid medication as prescribed. An antihistamine like Cetrizine can also be added to the treatment regime. You can also apply calamine lotion if itching is present. Also, make sure yo avoid further exposure to the allergen that triggers the allergic episode.
