Suggest Treatment For Hives On The Stomach

I have insect bites all over my stomach a few on my back and some on the top back part of my legs. I have never seen any like this and have been trying to pinpoint what kind of bug did this. They started as medium sized hives about the size of a dime or so some are larger and some smaller they are red around the hive and right in the middle it s blue and black. They itch terribly like to the point I feel like my skin is coming off with them. Since then my eyes also itch considerable. I went to the doctor and he gave me two antibiotics and one steroid I haven t received yet but even if they go away I would still like to know what they were actually from so I could avoid in the future if possible
