Suggest Treatment For Hives, Swollen Face And Itchiness

Starting Thursday night I developed hives and itchiness. I woke up Friday morning with a swollen face and more hives even after taking Benadryl and Zyrtec. I went to the ER, took IV steroids, and went home with a prescription antihistamine and prednisone. The hives are still here, my face is still somewhat swollen, and now I also have a red sunburn like rash. I do have a few strange black marks on some hives that the Dr thought was under the skin.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to allergic reactions.

For that you can apply hydrocortisone ointment locally. Take tablet loratidine for itching.

In case of breathing difficulties, consult at urgent medical care.

Otherwise you can apply aloe Vera gel locally. Avoid harsh cosmetic products.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
