Suggest Treatment For Hives, White Streaks On Tonsils And Sore Throat

My 3 year old son broke out in hives 5 days ago and continues to have them today and now he has a white streak going down one of his tonsils. He hasn t complained of a sore throat. He is also eating fine and no fever, should I take him to the doctor? Could it be strep?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that breaking out of hives along with while streak on tonsil but no signs of sore throat and fever seems most probably be due to allergic reaction to some unknown allergen..
It can be any food or medicine while any skin cosmetic, detergents and soaps along with poison ivy can also be a cause..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

The tests will help in ruling out the exact cause of the allergen and once you know the cause of the allergic reaction you can avid exposure to it to prevent allergy attack..

He can be advised to take anti allergics like benadryl along with cool compresses..
Application of Calamine lotion can relieve..
He can also be instilled an Immunotherapy that will help in reducing the severity and frequency of allergic attack..
Once the allergen is ruled out avoiding exposure to it can prevent the allergy symptoms..
