Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is 2 & half months old, when going for regular check up our doctor advice us to do some test & bcoz of my daughtr s slow weight gain as compare to last month. After d tests Doctors found there is a Hole in heart measuring 7 mm at lower of Heart, pls suggest!!!!!
As per my surgical experience, the hole in heart of an infant involving lower heart indicates ventricular septal defect, through which there is mixing of venous and oxygenated blood of right and left ventricle combinely for systemic distribution. Majority of the minor defects do close spontaneously and remain asymptomatic till time, however number of cases do pause symptoms of hypoxia, cyanosis, breathlessness on exertion or others which may warrant surgical correction.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
