Suggest Treatment For Huge Blisters On Neck And Ears After Dyeing The Hair
My sister-in-law had her hair dyed back in May and a couple days after had blisters on her neck and ears. In the last couple of weeks she thought she was developing a heat rash, but then blisters started forming on her hands/palms/fingers. She has been has been hospitalized twice in the last two weeks. They gave her steroids and antibiotics, but released her the last time and said she had to go to a dermatologist. The blisters were huge and were lanced by the dermatologist, 25 on one hand and 43 on the other hand, but they are still appearing. Any ideas what could be the cause. We are awaiting the results of the biopsies and her ear has still yet to heal from the original hair dye treatment.
She has Secondary blistering diseases due to Contact dermatitis (offending agent-hair dye); alternatively, it might be porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT). An elevated level of urinary uroporphyrins confirms the diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
