Suggest Treatment For Hurt In My Ankle

I rolled my ankle yesterday playing netball. It hurt when I fell for about 10 seconds and I couldn t walk on it for a bit but then I felt fine and then I played the last quarter of me netball game. However, after I sat down for a bit and then stood up a few hours later, my ankle started hurting whenever i walked or even moved it. How badly have i sprained my ankle?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

Since it is painful to walk, a bone injury is likely. You need to get an X-ray of the area done. MRI is the best investigation to diagnose the ligament injury. Till then avoid weight bearing and keep the leg elevated on two pillows.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
