Hi,
Noted the short history about your Mother having
Hydronephrosis on the left kidney due to a stone impacted at the PUJ junction and stone in the right kidney also, wants to know what can be done.
First of all she needs an opinion of a
Urologist to have proper evaluation, investigations like CT scan with Pyelography, tests of blood and urine.
This will tell us the size, site of the stone, functioning of the kidney and the modality to get rid of stones.
This mainly depends upon the following factors:
Site and size of stone.
Functioning status of kidney.
Kidney function tests.
Any co-morbidity like
diabetes,
hypertension and so on.
Machines and expertise of the Urologist.
Please get a proper opinion, investigations and go for the best possible modality of management which can be stenting, surgery to remove stone,
lithotripsy and so on.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
