Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was recently diagnosed with hydronephrosis. The urologist that treated me while in the hospital had a lot of test done and told me that my kidney isn t working anymore and that I ll need surgery. Once I was discharged I called the same urologist to talk about surgery and possibly get it scheduled, he hit me with seeing him in 6 months. I m so confused, why do you think that is?
The cause of hydronephrosis is obstruction and it must be relieved by surgery. Surgery should be done at the earliest or it may lead to complications like infections.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
