Suggest Treatment For Hyperactivity And Lack Of Social Skills In A Child
hi, i hav 6 1/2yrs epileptic daughter since 9 months. now doc is suspecting autism. m worried.
assessment is going on. waiting for the report
she has a sister of 1 1/2yrs old. m anxious abt her also.
severe behavioural problems. i thought may b bcoz of anti-epileptic medication. donno how to handle the child. she is now on Rivotril 0.5mg-0-0.75mg BD. and tegretol 7.5ml-0-7.5ml bd.
the doc is treating her with Risperdal from yesterday with 2-2-3 drops. she is very hyperactive, sleep difficulty, langauage difficulty, communication problem, lacks social skills. but i thought she is a slow learner.
i am now confused with these two. will she be ok after the free of medication. please suggest me

I can understand your concerns.
None of these drugs cause autism like features. Epilepsy and autism can coexist. Risperdal will control her hyperactivity but she will also need occupational therapy and play therapy.
