Suggest Treatment For Hypercalcemia

I have hypercalcimia (11). I have been seen by a nephrologist and hematologist because of possible monoclonal protein (which was ruled out). I have a 9mm kidney and elevated uric acid . I am going to see a endocrinologist next week. No real cause for the hypercalcimia has yet been found. The blood tests so far have not indicated any abnormal parathyroid function. Can you she some light on this and what can I expect from the endocrinologist and if my parathyroid is abnormal through more sophisticated blood work, what would the treatment be?? Thanking you in advance for your consideration.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Endocrine causes like hyper parathyroidism or condition like ectopic parathyroid secretion( abnormal PTH secretion from other sites)must be ruled out.

Additional investigations like serum PTH and parathyroid scintigraphy must be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
