Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My forehead sticker thermometer read over 100 degrees. My oral thermometer read 97.1 degrees. I have type 1 diabetes and have had severely high blood sugar today, but I thought that corresponded to a higher intake of carbohydrates. The insulin requirement to cover those carbs was over 15 times greater, though. And my 10 mile jog/walk today had me feeling very weak. At this second, I am not nauseas. My expired ketone strips read negative. After 7 hours of extreme hyperglycemia (over 300), I am now dropping to 109. What are your thoughts on the temperature variances? Does this sound like a flu with me being able to remedy the blood sugar with tons of insulin and no ketones (although the strips are expired)? Thank you.
