Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a problem with hyperkeratosis for about 12 yrs and I have been shaving the thick skin.It s become painful. I would like to cure this issue, my doctor did not give me any medication for it.What can I do or take to get rid of this condition?Thank you
* As per my clinical experience, the chronic issue of hyperkeratosis is not solvable with recurrent shaving for sure.
* There can be underlying callus formation or some sort of immune reponse of the body to particular concern.
* The best way to diagnose the issue is to discuss the need of biopsy of the area concerned with your dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
