Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 67 and last week for the time in my life I was diagnosed with hypertension. After tracking my bp for a week, my average daily reading was 157/85 and pulse about 60. My doctor prescribed 25 of Atenolol. I take the tablet at bed time. After a week my bp is 125/57 and pulse is 50. Is this as good as it will get. I do feel dizzy if I stand after sitting. Is this normal?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, what the history and the reading of blood pressure is given here I could say that it is not the case of hypertension and may not need any antihypertensive, I would suggest to have second opinion from second physician and always try to get read the blood pressure by physician hope this information helps.
