Suggest Treatment For Hypertension And High Cholesterol Levels
Subject 2: A 45-year-old sedentary woman with a history of hypertension whose weight is 170 pounds and whose height is 5’4 has the following blood values: HDL cholesterol = 40 mg/d/L/low; LDL cholesterol = 140 mg/dL/borderline high; and triglycerides = 250 mg/dL/high
Hello, The values of lipids mentioned are not very high. LDL & TGL both are moderately high. But do not warrant any drug treatment. However, looking at the weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 29.26 kgs/M2, the subject is very close to become obese. Therefore, weight reduction with restricted diet and regular exercise will definitely help in correcting the lipid levels. Thanks.
