Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There are a number of treatments for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy:
-Open heart surgery during which the surgeon removes part of the thickened septum(muscular wall separating right and left sides of the heart). This improves blood flow through the heart and out to the body.
-If there is a problem with
heart rate, a surgically implanted pacemaker can prompt the heart to beat at a normal rate.
-A non-surgical procedure is an alcohol septal ablation.
-Medicines for blood pressure,
arrhythmia, and to thin the blood are available if needed.
To ensure your newborn receives the best possible treatment he needs to be under the care of an experienced pediatric
cardiac surgeon who has performed many operations for newborns with congenital
heart disease. For an infant like yours not only is it important for him to have a sterling
the surgical team, but equally as important will be the quality of his post-op care. This baby must be at a tertiary medical center.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Arnold Zedd
