Suggest Treatment For Hypertrophic Lichen Planus

I have just been diagnosed with Hypertrophic Versus Erosive Lichen Planus was put on this Dexamethasono .5/5 ML dose to do three times a day and told was no cure for this . I am 73 a female and tring to understand what to do and how to help my health . Do you have any knowledge of this problem.

Thanks for your query . Well lichen planus is not an infectious disease and related to genetic factors .

But there are some factors which can trigger the condition like hepatitis c , flu vaccine or some medicines like blood pressure medicine.

There are limited treatment options for erosive lichen planus . The symptoms may last for more then simple lichen planus and sometime go away after long period also but they also have tendency to develop into cancer.

But there are options like steroid drugs ( as you also mention in query) . methotrexate. and vitamin supplement like folic acid .

Tacrilimus is also known to be effective in such case .
