Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroid During 12th Week Of Pregnancy
I found out that I was hypothyroid at my 12 the week of pregnancy. My TSH level was 7.5 Dr. put me on medication then. I am very worried about the development of the baby because I know that the baby's brain stars to develop during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Hi... Thyroid hormone requirement during pregnancy increases. Thyroid hormone is required for the normal physiological development of the baby. If anyone is found hypothyroid during pregnancy it is prudent to correct hormone levels as soon as possible as it may have detremental effects on the development of the baby. Since your TSH is only mildly elevated and have started treatment at an early date, i think the effect on the baby is minimal. So dont panic, but continue to take medictions and have regular follow up and scans with doctor.
