Suggest Treatment For Impetigo

My son has impetigo and has been prescribed medicine for it. It seems I have also got impetigo and wondered if I could take some of my sons medicine until I get my own, hopefully tomorrow....I have a sore in my nasal passage which is very sore and I want to get started treating it ASAP.

Impetigo is caused by bacterial infection and is treated with antibiotics. Once antibiotics like Keflex is started the symptoms should start subsiding within 3 days. Since your son was started on medication on Saturday and he is still not improving, there is a possibility that the bacteria is resistant to keflex and requires another medication. Culture and sensitivity analysis can help select appropriate antibiotics.

I'd recommend that you follow up with treating physician for reconsideration of medication.
