Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a boil that occurred and took over a month to actually burst. I think I had an ingrown hair. My problem is that every evening it has formed again to the point of draining with a little help and I concerned that if I do not burst it will continue to form a third boil. I am keeping covered with a bandage covered with Neosporin throughout the day.
I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like culture of discharge from bump and microscopic specimen evaluation can help..
Once the cause is ruled out it will be treated accordingly..
-In case of folliculitis antibiotics oral and topical and topical steroids can be advised.. In case of ingrown hair either steroid ointment and ice packs will resolve while if it does not resolve then incision followed by removal of the ingrown hair can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
