Suggest Treatment For Infected Wound On Knuckle Of Finger

I cut my finger (knuckle) side upper....probably could of use stitches but didn t seek medical treatment. When I cut it, it looks to be small cut but skin was hanging I put it back into place and use triple antibiotic ointment and placed sterile strips over it and in like three days it looked to be healing but since yesterday I noticed where I cut it, looks like bump and tried to get puss out was successful for only like 5 mins then back it come now knuckle joint seems a little stiff and not too painful but hurts. Little concerned

If I was your treating physician, I would have prescribed you Augmentin 1gram by mouth twice daily for 5days. Plus tablet Ibuprofen800mg 3 times a day for 5days. Plus tripple antibiotic to carry on. Plus sterile bandage. And off course would have liked to followup in 10days.
