Suggest Treatment For Infection In An Open Wound

Hello, my partner just had a cyst removed last week. With a 3-4cm width and 2cm death open wound. Using sterile material and changing the bandage on a Daily base. But it seems its starting to infect. With a lot of pain as a result. Im guessing doctor Will perscribe antibiotics? We were supposed to catch An 8h flight in a week from now, do you think this is something feasible for him given the circumstances? Other tips for better/quicker healing (rest, water, sleep, etc)?

hi I did review your condition.
An 8 hr flight in setting of a suspected post operative infection is what i would not advice. However, you can talk to your doctor regarding that. the doctor first needs to examine and check whether the pain is due to infection or something else. Also it depends from which part of the body the cyst is removed and how much pus collection has developed . sometimes surgical drainage is required for pus to be removed apart from antibiotics like cloxacillin, clindamycin and so on.
obviously keeping the area clean and dry and taking proper rest is priority.
