Suggest Treatment For Infection In Belly Button

My husband has an infection in his belly button and we went to an urgent care doctor over the weekend and he just told us it was an infection and prescribed him penicillin. It has been two days and he is still in pain and the belly button is still oozing. Is the medicine working or should he go back to another doctor?

Hi,
It seems that there might be having deep seated infection in belly button.
It takes some time to settle down infection after antibiotic started.
Wait for 2 days more, once effect of antibiotic will start there will be improvement.
Clean local part and apply antibiotic cream.
Many a time if this antibiotic is resistant to this strain, change of antibiotic might required.
Ok and take care.
