Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Chemotherapy patients may be immuno-supressed so they developed infections like cytomegalovirus, isospora, cryptospora, shigella, salmonella or herpes viruses.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. He may also develop chemotherapy drug induced liver damage. It is better to stop chemotherapy under your doctor's advice.

Get stool examination and culture done. If necessary colonoscopy and biopsy. Get it treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
