Suggest Treatment For Infection On The Thumb
I have a small infection on my thumb from a cut with a kitchen knife last night. I washed it with soap and used neosporin and a bandaid at the time of injury. But the bandaid slipped during the night and exposed a small bit of the wound. Today it is warm, a little sore, and the cut hasn t closed. Can I soak it ? In what kind of solution? I understand if it is worse tomorrow I should see a health care provider.

You can and should soak it in antiseptic solution but also you may need antibiotics orally so ask your doctor for amoxicillin 2x1g daily.You should also have antitetanus vaccination if you did not receive it already.
