Hello,
Corneal inflammation may be caused by probable reasons like keratitis also known as
corneal ulcer is an inflammation or irritation of the cornea. The causes are infectious like viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi and
vitamin A deficiency. Non infectious causes are injury to the cornea, such as a scratch, dryness or inflammation of the cornea, foreign body in the eye. overexposure to ultraviolet light, or allergies.
Improper
contact lens use, such as wearing them for too long, not cleaning them properly or wearing them while swimming. The treatment of corneal ulcer is for noninfectious keratitis. Mild case treatment is
artificial tears. In severe cases, a bandage to shield the eye and anti-inflammatory eye medication are needed
For infectious keratitis in mild cases, you need antibiotic, antiviral or anti-fungal eyedrops, depending on the cause of infection, and in severe cases, take oral medication. Mirena is not known to cause any eye problems.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
