Suggest Treatment For Inflammation On The Lips And Discoloration
HI Doc I seem to be getting inflamation of the lips and also seem to be losing the pigment in my lips concentrated in the corners/ edge of my mouth . Also the skin is not whitening like with vitiligo but are definitely a lighter colour than the rest of my lips. Whats the cause of this and how can i fix it? thanks
Lip inflammation and discoloration can occur as a result of a fungal infection, iron deficiency anemia, sun exposure, or an allergic reaction. Treatments for lip discoloration vary depending on the cause. My advice for you is to consult physically your doctor because it is necessary to do some screening test to check for fungus or anemia (the most possible causes). Only if you find the causes, you can have the right treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Elona Xhardo, Endocrinologist
