Suggest Treatment For Inner Ear Infection For My Son
I took my son to urgent care on Sunday and it is Wednesday and although he is takin amoxicillin 500 mg 2 capsules twice a day the ear seems to be worse and he is now experiencing drainage from the infected ear. The diagnosis made was an inner ear infection. Should I take him to the ER?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of inner ear infection for my son . The fluid accumulation behind the eardrum due to inner ear infection leads to reduced hearing tendency. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Maintain proper hygiene. - Put otogesic ear drops in ear. - Avoid touching and pricking it with any sharp object. - Apply warm compresses. - For infection in ear oral antibiotics as well as antibiotic ear drops can help.
You should consult an Otolaryngologist once and get evaluated. You should get it checked and go for otoscopic examination as it is important. You can go for drainage of fluids as well.
