Problems with sleep can be isolated or due to an underlying condition such as anxiety or depression.
If the case of isolated insomnia (sleep problem), Zolpidem is a good choice. If anxiety or depression is causing sleep problems then treatment with an SSRI drug such as sertraline or citalopram is helpful.
Meanwhile, try to have a good sleep hygiene and avoid alcohol, smoking and also do not have caffeine after 4 pm. Try to keep yourself active as much as you can and have a healthy diet and lifestyle. Expose yourself to sunlight throughout the day and avoid screens in the evening.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
