General & Family Physician 's  Response
Looks like an upper respiratory tract infection. For such patients coming to me I generally recommend a fever lowering medication like Paracetamol and throat soother like Mint lozenges. Most of the times such infections in children are viral and they get well on their own in 5-10 days. Please give some more details like-
-Cough is dry or productive? If productive what is the color of sputum?
-What are the medicines prescribed by your doctor? please provide a copy of prescription if possible.
-Does he have any other symptom like a rash or joint pain?
reply with details so that we could help you better. thank you
