Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Itchy Rashes On Torso
i have scattered itchy rash on my extremities and turso that comes on and off. My doctor ordered steroid cream which gives temporary relief been on steroid cream for couple yrs now is there another medicine aside from steroid. A friend said it could be fungus how can I be sure it is fungus
I am sorry for the health situation you are going through.
Itchiness on extremities for such long time (years) as you are reporting might be related to: - eczema - fungal infection - bacterial infection
which has not been treated properly so far.
The best way to find out if it is an infection or eczema, I'd advise to run: - examination of skin scrappings under microscopy (10% KOH) - culture of skin swab (if the skin is open) - biopsy of local skin
Hope it was of help! Dr.Albana
