Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Muscle Spasms In Rib Area After Injury
I fell forward 5 days ago and landed on face, arms, and I guess abdominal area. Lots of bruising but no brakes and all is healing. I thought I bruised a rib where stomach is located. But, now I m thinking it s muscle. No bruising where abdomen pain is located over stomach. It doesn t seem to be getting much better. Advil helps immediately. I can ride stationary bike and stand and walk with no pain. But, sometimes like this morning it felt like a super muscle spasm all the way to my right side of abdomen. Any suggests to facilitate healing? Thank you
Your symptoms seem to be related to the fall. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application at the bruised area. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to do an xray for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
