Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have had off and on pain in upper mid stomach for few years. Always at night which will wake me from sleep. Get more and more intense May last for few hours and then the only way to get relief will be to vomit. Sometimes it will happen from body natural course other time I try to induce it myself. I have learned that this is the way to get relief and it does and the pain stops then I will feel fine. Is this gallbladder and can this be diagnosed with labs for treatment

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due gastritis motility disorder. Problems with gall bladder can be ruled out by doing an ultrasound examination. For such condition I would recommend taking proton pump inhibitors like rabeperazole and motility enhancers like domperidone for 4 weeks. You can take over the counter proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium) also. If there is no improvement then a consultation with a gastroenterologist and fibrogastroduodenoscopy should be carried out to rule out problems like ulcer. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
