Suggest Treatment For Internal Bleeding And Hernia
My 3 year old (37pds) fell asleep on the floor. I (195pds) accidentally stepped on him. I think I got his leg. Maybe his stomach...He woke up crying and said it hurt, but I told him how sorry I was gave him a kiss. He asked for some water and fell back asleep. Do I need to be concerned about internal bleeding or hernias or anything. I m not too educated on any of that stuff. My red heeler mix dog has jumped on his stomach once. I tried googling things and found a lot of people rushing to hospital for xrays because their dogs stepped on infant

Without being able to talk with you in person or on the phone, it is hard for me to know how much force was applied (did you put all of your weight down?) and to what part of his body (abdomen would be more concerning than leg).
A general rule though, is that if a child rather quickly returns to acting normally as you described (asking for water, going back to sleep comfortably per usual), then there typically is not significant injury.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
