Hello,
As per my clinical experience, the
inflammatory bowel disease do pause with multiple effects over intestines as well as extra intestinal manifestations in terms of
uveitis,
arthritis and others. My guidelines at present:
- Strict dietary guidelines to be followed as advised by your gastroenterologist specialist preferring whole grains, cereals, pulses, legumes and avoiding spices, non-veg, junk items, dairy fat
- Maintain hydration with plenty of liquids
- Supportive therapy with GI specific antibiotics as Rifaximin,
metronidazole or others in case of acute flare up, Pre and pro biotics with lacto bacillus and sachharomyosis bullardiae, Hemostatic agents as tranaxemic acid or ethamsylate
Hemorrhoids may be secondary to over or undue pressure over anal tissue during
diarrhea episodes and must be confirmed with primary disease versus secondary hemorrhoids.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
