I was diagnosed with intertrigo under my 44-DD breasts and on the skin beneath my ample abdominal fat (I am 5-1 and 1/2 and almost 200 pounds). I was prescribed Synalar cream, which I used for about five years. When I developed thin skin and dark stretchmarks, I saw a dermatologist and learned that I shouldn't have been on Synalar regularly for so long. "Never use that again!" exclaimed the doc. I seem to be able to keep the intertrigo at bay in the abdominal area by using diaper-rash cream after drying off, or the occasional dose of a prescription ointment. The skin under the breasts is doing okay, with occasional minor flare-ups. I stay as dry as possible and wear clean, well-rinsed undergarments. However, the area between my breasts is driving me crazy. Sometimes the itching is almost more than I can stand. I have tried the Rx cream, Aveeno anti-itch cream, oatmeal and mineral oil baths, diaper-rash cream, hydrocortisone cream, and nothing at all. Usually, remedies seem to make it worse, but I can't leave it untreated for long, either. Sometimes one little red bump is there; sometimes it seems to go away. Under a magnifying glass, I can see tiny blister-like bumps. I can feel them with my fingers, but the bumps are almost invisible to the naked eye. I am 65 years old, and my skin has always been sensitive; in the last few years, it has also been dry, but this problem between the breasts gives me a whole new level of discomfort. What the heck could be going on?
