Suggest Treatment For Iron Deficiency And Constipation
I ve had several operations on my small intestine and I m anemic. I m taking slow release iron pills but it causes trouble with constipation. I ve also had diverticulitis surgery 6 years ago. Is this the main reason for my iron deficiency. Going back to my doctor in 3 months for blood work again

You may take Movicol 2 sachets a day to help with constipation. If it does not help enough while you need to get iron for anemia, you can talk with the doctor to take the iron intravenously. This will avoid any gastrointestinal side effect of iron and will help to treat iron deficiency anemia.
