My daughter has iron deficiency. She is eating good. Lots of vegetables and fruits and also good meat and fish. What must have caused this deficiency. She is serious. Being very active at the age of 32, she cannot drive now, cannot go out the house and socialize with people. She cannot travel by car. She has poor memory now. She cannot go to work or stand any kind of noise. Basically she cannot do any activities . Her head spins and feels nervous and scared all the time. Her blood test only shows lack of iron but why she is so out of balance. I don t want to her to lose her memory. Pls help
dear As rightly thought of iron deficiency is a major issue now a days.First of all apart from a iron suppliment like dexorange or ferium we must a certain for any source of iron loss from body, To my patients I advise a deworming first for any intestinal infection,next any menstrual irregularities with irregular bleeding to be taken care of. most of the time tea cofee also hamper our iron absorption if taken after meals.A peripheral smear test for healthy erythropoesis(red cell synthesis) and to rule out any hereditary recessive anaemia possibilities.
