Suggest Treatment For Irregular And Prolonged Menstruation In Teen Agers

My daughter 15 years, has irregular periods. She started her cycle at the age of 9.....with some irregularity.....her cycle is a prolonged one for about 12-15 days the bleeding persists. Last year during September it was continuing for 25 days and doctor prescribed regestrone for 21 days. This year again frm 8 th may she was bleeding for45 days and doctor prescribed premolt n for 21 days....the day it was stopped she started with her periods...then one dose of inj. depo puvera was given along with sysron n(21days x 2) and pause(5days) .....Inspite of that she would bleed once in a week during night. ....The doctor said she would stop her cycle for about 3 months then on the onset of her periods , in the 5 th day start with krimson 35 for 25 days.....Since she was having this bleeding once every week and now with immence abdominal pain we visited the doc again and he prescribed goselin3.6 one injection every month for 4 months. We as parents are absolutely confused as my daughter is too young to be experimented with...her weight is 63 kg and has high bone density. Please suggest whether the treatment is corrrect and if not what should we do? Regards Soma

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, in teenage such irregular menses of menorrhagia is very common condition and this is happening due to hormone changes but this need to be once investigated for some blood disorders and endocrine disorders, else this is nothing to worry, prolonged bleeding need to be managed and for that you have to see the gynecologist, in absence of disease this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
