General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

To treat irregular periods you are suggested to take Regesterone (5mg, for 10 days). It should get reduced. Progesterone and Tranexamic acid are equally effective. However you should get clinically examined by a gynecologist to detect any hormonal problems, PCOS, thyroid issues, obesity, etc.

You will have to get a few tests and investigations done. You will be treated according to the pathology that is detected and the severity of symptoms. You are recommended to take food rich in protein, calcium and iron. Maintain healthy BMI and do regular exercises.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
